Can’t believe it

Sitting having morning coffee this morning before Sue goes to work, our attention was drawn to the cries of a puppy. Sue went to investigate.

Puppy 1She found the puppy, it was in a tied plastic bag stuck in a thorn bush. Some ………. had obviously not wanted the puppy, put it into a plastic shopping bag, tied it and thrown it into the bush to die of starvation or heat exhaustion.

It is really so hard to believe that somebody could be so incredibly cruel – I am totally speechless.

Puppy 2The puppy, which I guess is about a month old – maybe a bit more, is now sleeping in blanket. It has drunk to milk and looks as if it is walking OK and hopefully well. We will see.

Sue has already named it “Thorn”

An so the menagerie grows. Sadly Pete, there is a cultural canyon I think. We have a cat issue, the neighbours have brought a cat from Soweto to catch rats. It is a tom with nuts the size of a bull. Sadly to make it catch rats they don’t feed the animal so it yowls all day, fights with every other cat and then raids our garden for baby birds and the chickens. Our Domestic assistant a dear sweet granny time announces that we need to catch the cat, break its leg and let it go and it wont come back…… I was dumb struck…….asked her what she means and she happily picked up a stick and demonstrated how to break the leg…….. Sadly she has the vote!

Glad that puppy had a happy ending. Poor little sausage. Smiling as it landed just where it needed too! Welcome to your family ๐Ÿ™‚

ah shame that is so sad but not at all surprising! the animal cruelty that happens in Orapa is astounding.Last week a male nurse shot his dog with a pellet gun in the eye and leg and it is alive. Even sadder is that no one even cares and the powers that be are not interested in domestic animals. grrrr
