“Swarms” of Birds
Every morning and evening we are getting flocks of Red-billed Queleas and Red-headed Finches, coming into our garden.
They sit on the thorn tree at our pond before swarming down to the water to drink. It is quite a sight to see, and when they fly off there is just a mass birds all close together filling the sky.
Snip Snip
Our two puppies are now 6 months old (we found them when they were roughly a month old), so it was time to get them sterilized, which we did last week.
They are fine after their op and the day after they were as naughty as always again. Today their stitches must come out, so Vet Pete will be in action, as we don’t have a vet here in Letlhakane.
Initially, having two male puppies fighting over everything, meal times were chaotic. As their bowl of food approached the ground they were already fighting over it. Control was needed to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
So at a very early age they were taught to sit, then to stay, and on the command “good boys” they could get their food and hence feeding time become much more pleasant.
They are actually now so good about it I don’t have to even say “sit” or “stay” anymore. Just “good boys”; when I am ready. See our video.
Weather Update
I have just updated our weather page to include June. https://ourbots.wordpress.com/letlhakane-weather/
To think we are in the middle of winter and our average minimum temperature is over 8C with highs averaging at 27C, this isn’t a bad place to live. We did have a freezing patch for two days where we went down to 2.6C.
This was our first month of this year with no rain.

Eish – we have only reached 27 once in our summer temps 🙂
The noise when the birds all take off together and the sweeping/wave movements used to fascinate me.
Wow – the pups sure have grown – so lucky – they landed in the right place 🙂 🙂
I hope the lovely weather holds for a few more weeks!
Weather is stunning – whilst we were away this last weekend (post coming) our car’s thermometer read 41C at one stage
Yikes! Good thing I packed shorts and a tee shirt. I’ll be watching for your post.
It didn’t seem that hot – but I was in shorts and a short sleeve shirt. Evenings, nights and mornings are cold. Bring a jacket – always be safe than sorry. Remember we do not cater for the cold
