As I see there were numerous people reading my blog titled “Three Landys and a Toyota are bogged down onto their chassis between Kubu and Gweta”. Hence, I thought an update might be in order.
They have already spent 2 nights stuck on the pans, however it doesn’t seem like anybody is a 100% sure of the situation. It is speculated that the group got caught in the rain and what was a small mud patch has turned into a gigantic one and no rescue vehicle can get close to them.
A police helicopter located them to check that they were ok and reported that they have enough food and water.
A rescue party from Maun is trying to figure a way of getting them out. Maybe a positive is that we have had 2 hot and dry days to dry things out, but then, looking out of our windows in the direction of the pans the clouds are building again.
I will keep you updated as best I can.
Thanks Pete – I have several friends who were heading that way and a few people have responded to me after I posted your link on Botswana Wildlife Sightings that they have had to change direction.
Thanks Suki – not a good idea to go onto the pans at the moment
Thank god it’s not you bro!!!

No chance you will catch me on the pans now or for the next month
